LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet has approved a 25 percent increase in the salaries of public sector employees as Provincial Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman presents the Punjab budget 2024-25.<\/p>\n
The provincial administration is anticipated to announce a wage raise of up to 25% for employees in grades 1 through 16, and up to 20% for senior officials.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the provincial government has approved a 15% increase in pensions for retired government employees.<\/p>\n
The Punjab administration also plans to boost the provincial minimum salary by Rs5,000 to Rs37,000.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, the Federal finance minister unveiled the federal budget which proposed 25pc salary increase for government employees.<\/p>\n
The 25 percent increase will be applies to employees of Grades 1 to 16. Additionally, the government has approved a 22% raise for employees in Grades 17 to 22.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, pensioners will get a 15 percent hike in Budget 2024-25.<\/p>\n
