{"id":40310,"date":"2024-06-22T14:54:28","date_gmt":"2024-06-22T09:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=40310"},"modified":"2024-06-22T14:54:28","modified_gmt":"2024-06-22T09:54:28","slug":"dc-rawalpindi-issues-detention-orders-of-pti-leaders-ahead-of-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/dc-rawalpindi-issues-detention-orders-of-pti-leaders-ahead-of-protest\/","title":{"rendered":"DC Rawalpindi issues detention orders of PTI leaders ahead of protest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema has issued detention orders for four PTI leaders under Section 3 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/section-144-imposed-in-punjab-for-7-days-ahead-of-pti-call-for-protests\/\">Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance<\/a> today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/journalist-imran-riaz-khan-detained-at-lahore-airport\/\">Detention orders<\/a> have been issued <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">for PTI leaders including Shahryar Riaz, Ajmal Sabir, Ameer Afzal, and Taimur Masood Akbar. <\/span>A notification in this regard has been issued by the DC.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, PTI leaders will be arrested and detained in Adiala Jail for 15 days.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab police department along with the District Intelligence Committee decided to detain the PTI leaders in a meeting held on June 20, <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">citing security concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The detention came after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of parliament announced a long march towards the Election Commission today. In this regard, the security of the ECP has been tightened.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier, the Islamabad police registered cases against Shoaib Shaheen and 80 others over a violent protest outside the National Press Club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The cases were registered against the PTI leaders Amir Mughal, Ali Bukhari, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> others under the terrorism act and charges of attempted murder, robbery, and vandalism.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema has issued detention orders for four PTI leaders under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance today.
