{"id":40578,"date":"2024-06-25T14:33:39","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T09:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=40578"},"modified":"2024-06-25T14:53:37","modified_gmt":"2024-06-25T09:53:37","slug":"punjab-govt-announces-saturday-as-weekly-holiday-in-school-details-inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/punjab-govt-announces-saturday-as-weekly-holiday-in-school-details-inside\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab govt announces Saturday as weekly holiday in schools; Details inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: In a relief to students and teachers, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-collaborates-with-google-for-digital-school-on-wheels-project\/\">Punjab government<\/a> has announced two weekly holidays in schools across the province.<\/p>\n<p>Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat declared Saturday as a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/punjab-govt-notifies-summer-camps-in-schools\/\">weekly holiday<\/a>, adding that the schools will now remain closed for two days a week.<\/p>\n<p>Taking on X, the Education Minister said that the decision has been taken to provide relief to the teachers\u2019 community in the province. \u201cTeachers are serving the nation and we must take care of them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the decision of two weekly holidays was taken due to the excessive workload on teachers. He further said that the school&#8217;s timings however will be increased from Monday to Friday so the decision would not affect the education of the students.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/govt-considering-to-abolish-saturday-off-of-federal-employees\/\">Saturday holiday in schools after summer vacations in Punjab<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>After the summer vacations, all schools in Punjab will observe two holidays on weekends, the Education Minister announced, adding that the government aimed to provide relief to teachers.<\/p>\n<p>After the announcement of two holidays per week, the Punjab government has decided to extend the school timings for the remaining days (Monday-Friday).
