For that, he urged Pakistan&#8217;s need for sophisticated small arms and communication equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistani envoy stressed the robust Islamabad-Washington security ties, urging strong security links, enhanced intelligence cooperation, and the resumption of sales of advanced military equipment between both nations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is crucial for regional security and opposing the rising tide of terrorism that also threatens the interests of the US and its allies,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>While speaking to the forum, Pakistan&#8217;s envoy emphasized that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured that it would not be a large-scale military operation and that local people would not be displaced.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Moreover, he proposed that the US should collaborate with Pakistan for a diplomatic solution in Kabul, focusing on counterterrorism and women&#8217;s rights in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He underscored the importance of security cooperation, describing it as a trust-building measure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan sought small arms and modern equipment to ensure the success of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, aimed to eliminate terrorism and extremism.
