{"id":41645,"date":"2024-07-06T14:44:25","date_gmt":"2024-07-06T09:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=41645"},"modified":"2024-07-06T14:44:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-06T09:44:25","slug":"cda-announces-early-deadline-for-islamabad-expressway-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/cda-announces-early-deadline-for-islamabad-expressway-project\/","title":{"rendered":"CDA announces early deadline for Islamabad Expressway Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa ired over a delay in the completion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/interior-minister-bans-purchase-of-petrol-motorcycles-in-islamabad\/\">Islamabad Expressway project<\/a> which has missed two deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Commissioner Islamabad <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/cda-to-establish-wildlife-safari-park-in-islamabad\/\">Muhammad Ali Randhawa<\/a> gave a new deadline for Expressway&#8217;s completion and asked the department concerned to wrap up the project by Aug 14 instead of Sept 30.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit to the project site for <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">inspection<\/span>, the CDA chief asked the contractor <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and CDA\u2019s engineering staff to<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0complete the ongoing work for its inauguration by Aug 14 to make the Expressway a signal-free corridor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to a press release issued by the CDA, the chairman inspected the ongoing construction work at Swan Bridge, Japan Underpass, Railway Bridge, Bhinder Bridge &amp; other sections of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">On the directions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi<\/span><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">, construction work on this long-delayed project has been carried out at a record speed, the statement said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">On the instructions of Interior Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MohsinnaqviC42?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MohsinnaqviC42<\/a>, Chairman CDA <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RandhawaAli?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RandhawaAli<\/a> conducted an early morning detailed visit to Islamabad Expressway. (@CDAthecapital) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CDAthecapital\/status\/1808757598297993528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 4, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"css-175oi2r\">\n<div class=\"css-175oi2r r-1s2bzr4\">\n<p dir=\"auto\" lang=\"en\" data-testid=\"tweetText\">Earlier, the<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> original deadline for the Islamabad Expressway project was March 2024, which was extended to September 30 this year. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, the CDA chairman set a new deadline and asked the staff to complete the project by August 14.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">CDA officials said that project inauguration on Aug 14 is feasible as we are in a position to complete this project as soon as possible. &#8220;W<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">ork on several bridges \u2013 part of the project \u2013 has been completed whereas the railways&#8217; bridge has 90pc of its work finished.&#8221; However, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Binder Bridge is under construction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The CDA had awarded a contract worth Rs10.9 billion to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) for the rehabilitation and expansion of the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">seven-kilometer<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> portion of the Expressway, from PWD Interchange to G.T.
