{"id":41766,"date":"2024-07-08T17:00:01","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T12:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=41766"},"modified":"2024-07-08T17:00:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T12:00:01","slug":"imran-khans-plea-for-weekly-whatsapp-call-with-sons-rejected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khans-plea-for-weekly-whatsapp-call-with-sons-rejected\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan\u2019s plea for weekly WhatsApp call with sons rejected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad-court-issues-arrest-warrants-for-kp-cm-gandapur-amir-mughal\/\">Anti-Terrorism Court<\/a> in Rawalpindi Monday rejected PTI founder Imran Khan&#8217;s request to allow him to speak to his sons, Qasim and Suleman, once a week.<\/p>\n<p>ATC judge Malik Ejaz Asif rejected the plea filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan for a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khans-sons-encourage-support-for-pti-ahead-of-general-elections\/\">WhatsApp call with his sons<\/a> weekly.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Khan&#8217;s petition, the jail administration told the court that there is no legal provision for allowing the accused to have a conversation with their relatives via WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>However, the court previously ruled that Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala Jail, be allowed to speak with his children twice a month currently resides in the UK with their mother Jemima Khan.<\/p>\n<p>Following the administration\u2019s response, Judge Malik Ejaz dismissed Imran Khan&#8217;s appeal to speak to his children once a week via WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>The ATC Judge sought a response from the jail administration over Khan&#8217;s claim that he was not allowed to speak with his sons\u00a0despite being allowed to do so by law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi Monday rejected PTI founder Imran Khan&#8217;s request to allow him to speak to his sons, Qasim and Suleman, once a week.
