{"id":42211,"date":"2024-07-12T18:46:40","date_gmt":"2024-07-12T13:46:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=42211"},"modified":"2024-07-12T18:46:40","modified_gmt":"2024-07-12T13:46:40","slug":"motorbikes-sales-drop-by-3-11-in-fy2023-pama-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/motorbikes-sales-drop-by-3-11-in-fy2023-pama-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorbikes sales drop by 3.11% in FY2023: PAMA report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-starts-delivery-of-e-bikes-to-students\/\">Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA)<\/a> in its latest report said that Pakistan recorded a drop of 3.11 percent in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/interior-minister-bans-purchase-of-petrol-motorcycles-in-islamabad\/\">motorcycle sales<\/a> in Fiscal Year 2023-24.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> bike cycle dropped to 1.15 million as compared to the previous fiscal year&#8217;s 1.19 million. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/automobile\/honda-cd-70-dream-new-price-in-pakistan-after-budget-july-2024\/\">year-on-year sales<\/a> increase of 8.38 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">percent was recorded in June 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Despite this monthly improvement, a significant month-on-month decline of 24.34 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">percent<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> was recorded which <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">marked the third consecutive fiscal year of declining sales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the PAMA report added that the sales figure reached<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> almost a 10-year low in the previous year. <\/span>The production trends also decreased in parallel to the sales.<\/p>\n<p>The <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">total production of motorcycles and three-wheelers with a drop of 3 percent compared to FY23 recorded <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">1.15 million units in FY24, according to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As per the report, i<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">n June 2024, production stood at 87,844 units, representing a 9.94 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">percent<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> increase from June 2023, but a steep 27.14 <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">percent<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> drop from May 2024. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">During July-April 2023-24, as many as 941,406 motorbikes and three-wheelers were sold against the sale of 1,006,839 units in July-April (2022-23).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) in its latest report said that Pakistan recorded a drop of 3.11 percent in motorcycle sales in Fiscal Year 2023-24.
