ISLAMABAD: Abu Dhabi Ports Pakistan will invest $250 million in Pakistan’s southern Karachi port over the next ten years.<\/p>\n

As per the details, a delegation of Abu Dhabi Ports Pakistan led by its Chief Executive Officer Khurram Aziz Khan informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a meeting on Friday.<\/p>\n

Abu Dhabi Ports will establish a modern multipurpose terminal with an investment of $130 million over the next two years.<\/p>\n

State broadcaster reported that the terminal project includes access control, automated gates, and the construction of another 200 meters of berth extension, crane rail track and other infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The terminal will be able to handle cargo ships of up to 120,000 tonnes as well as boost economic activities at the Karachi port<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<\/a> said that the agreement will not only increase transparency but also improve operations at the port. He said that digital technology and advanced machinery will be used to improve operations.<\/p>\n

The prime minister also directed the railway authorities to provide freight coaches and necessary rolling stock to make the project operational and improve the delivery of goods from the terminal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
