LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched the “Free Wi-Fi<\/a>” initiative in Nankana Sahib after its successful implementation in Lahore and Kasur, here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As per the details, in a statement today, Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Maryam Nawaz<\/a> said that the use of free internet service by more than five million citizens in Lahore illustrates the success of the project.<\/p>\n

She said that the Safe Cities project will soon be started in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, which will later be extended to eighteen cities across Punjab.<\/p>\n

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the scope of free Wi-Fi service in Lahore was increased from 100 points to 200 points.<\/p>\n

Free Wi-Fi is available in areas such as Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chuhng, Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, Maraka, and other regions.<\/p>\n

According to an official statement, free emergency Wi-Fi service is being provided for the citizens under the ‘Digital Punjab’ vision.<\/p>\n

In emergency situations, the service can be used to contact the police and family members, as well as use the Women’s Safety app, the Punjab Police app, and WhatsApp.<\/p>\n

Note that this service is not available for Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or other entertainment apps. The range of each free Wi-Fi device in Lahore extends up to 300 feet from the respective point.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
