The process will begin on August 16, following data received from the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nadra-updates-family-registration-fees-in-pakistan-details-inside\/\">National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/pta-set-to-block-these-mobile-phones-details-inside\/\">Three phases of blocking SIMs<\/a>:<\/h2>\n<p>1.In the first phase, SIMs registered under fake or canceled CNICs will be blocked<\/p>\n<p>2. The second phase will target SIMs linked to expired CNICs.<\/p>\n<p>3. The third phase will address SIMs registered under CNICs of deceased individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribers have begun receiving notifications about this upcoming action.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued an injunction preventing the federal government from blocking SIMs of non-filers.<\/p>\n<p>IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq issued the order in response to a written petition filed by a telecom operator challenging Clause 114-B of the Income Tax Ordinance and the Federal Board of Revenue\u2019s (FBR) Income Tax General Orders.<\/p>\n<p>The petition argued that the tax regulator&#8217;s actions infringed on the fundamental right to freedom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has outlined a plan to block Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in three phases.
