Currently, there is no cure or vaccine for dengue fever, and in its most severe form, it can be fatal.<\/p>\n<p>Those infected with dengue experience severe flu-like symptoms, including high fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, and nausea and vomiting, usually lasting about a week.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Interior Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/mohsin-naqvi-to-replace-jay-shah-as-acc-president-reports\/\">Mohsin Naqvi<\/a> ordered strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deal with the virus after nine cases were reported in Islamabad ahead of the monsoon season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Islamabad Capital Territory administration is stepping up efforts to control the spread of dengue as 14 cases were reported,&#8221; state news agency APP reported on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, out of 604 locations in Islamabad where larvae were detected, 174 were in rural areas and 430 were in urban centers.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have taken action against businesses and construction sites where the larvae were found, leading to several arrests for not following dengue SOPs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Islamabad has reported 14 cases of dengue fever, while officials have identified dengue mosquito larvae at 604 locations across the city, here on Monday.
