Previously, under the ‘scientists and experts’ route, applicants used to require a minimum gross salary of Dh30,000 per month, including allowances. Now, the requirement has shifted to a basic salary of Dh30,000 per month excluding any allowances.<\/p>\n The change means that professionals who meet the threshold of Dh30,000 through their total remuneration package are no longer eligible for a 10-year visa.<\/p>\n A customer care agent of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed the development. Khaleej Times has contacted the ICP for an official statement.<\/p>\n Feroze Khan, operations manager of the Dubai-based Arabian Business Center, also confirmed that only applicants with a basic salary of Dh30,000 are being granted long-term visas. He noted that people with job titles like ‘Manager’ and ‘Director’ or professions like Engineer and Doctor find it easier to get residency.<\/p>\n In 2022, the UAE expanded its Golden Visa scheme to include skilled professionals in fields such as medicine, science and engineering, information technology, business and administration, education, law, culture and social sciences.<\/p>\n According to Mojidi, the change to the minimum basic salary requirement raises the bar for prospective Golden Visa applicants. “This new standard highlights the UAE’s aim to attract exceptional talent with substantial earning potential. It also means that current applicants at the pre-approval stage will receive final approval.” Difficulties may be encountered in obtaining, and existing Golden Visa<\/a> holders may struggle to meet the new requirements during renewal, potentially affecting their eligibility.<\/p>\n Mojidi noted a “noticeable increase” in client inquiries regarding these changes. “Many people are concerned about meeting the new basic salary requirements, particularly those who were previously eligible under the old standard by including allowances.
