{"id":45381,"date":"2024-08-18T16:35:20","date_gmt":"2024-08-18T11:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=45381"},"modified":"2024-08-18T16:34:32","modified_gmt":"2024-08-18T11:34:32","slug":"imran-khan-to-hold-public-rally-in-islamabad-on-august-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khan-to-hold-public-rally-in-islamabad-on-august-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan to hold public rally in Islamabad on August 22"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/cm-sindh-orders-investigation-into-underage-marriages-in-dadu-district\/\"> Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif,<\/a> announced on Sunday that imprisoned <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/moitt-shaza-fatima-blames-vpn-usage-for-internet-disruption-in-pakistan\/\">Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan<\/a> has &#8220;decided&#8221; to hold a public rally in Islamabad on August 22.<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference in Islamabad, Saif assured that the rally would not lead to any law and order issues and emphasized that the party would strive to adhere to legal guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>This announcement comes after a prolonged struggle by PTI to secure permission for a public gathering in the federal capital, where authorities have repeatedly denied requests due to security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in June, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/islamabad-weather-forecast-gusty-winds-thundershowers-expected\/\">Islamabad High Court&#8217;s Justice Babar Sattar<\/a> directed the PTI and the city administration to resolve the issue amicably, resulting in the deputy commissioner granting permission for the rally.<\/p>\n<p>However, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa later suspended the no-objection certificate (NOC), citing the start of Muharram and local security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, PTI sought contempt of court proceedings against those responsible for the NOC suspension. The party&#8217;s subsequent plea for permission to hold a public meeting on August 13 was also contested.<\/p>\n<p>Saif&#8217;s announcement follows a similar statement earlier this month by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who declared that the party would not be stopped from holding a rally.
