{"id":45664,"date":"2024-08-20T19:18:16","date_gmt":"2024-08-20T14:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=45664"},"modified":"2024-08-20T19:18:16","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T14:18:16","slug":"atc-discharges-bushra-bibi-in-12-case-related-to-may-9-incidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/atc-discharges-bushra-bibi-in-12-case-related-to-may-9-incidents\/","title":{"rendered":"ATC discharges Bushra Bibi in 12 case related to May 9 incidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday discharged former prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s wife <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/bushra-bibis-bail-plea-rejected-in-may-9-cases-heres-why\/\">Bushra Bibi<\/a> in 12 cases related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ready-for-apology-if-pti-found-involved-in-may-9-incidents-imran-khan\/\">May 9 mayhem<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ATC Rawalpindi Judge Malik Ejaz Asif presided over the hearing at the Adiala Jail in which the judge rejected the police&#8217;s request seeking Busra Bibi&#8217;s physical remand in May 9 cases.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, defense counsels gave arguments requesting physical remand to investigate the former first lady, whereas, her lawyer Salman Safdar presented counterarguments against the police\u2019s requests.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation officer requested time to investigate the PTI Founder Imran Khan&#8217;s wife concerning the attack on the GHQ, among several other sensitive cases.<\/p>\n<p>On August 16, the police approached the ATC to obtain a physical remand of Bushra Bibi in the May 9 cases and initially, a request was made to include the former first lady in the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>However, the ATC refused to give her physical remand, maintaining that the remand could not be given unless the accused was presented before the court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday discharged former prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s wife Bushra Bibi in 12 cases related to the May 9 mayhem.
