{"id":45843,"date":"2024-08-22T15:26:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T10:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=45843"},"modified":"2024-08-26T14:45:05","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T09:45:05","slug":"moonis-elahis-cnic-passport-suspended-in-money-laundering-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/moonis-elahis-cnic-passport-suspended-in-money-laundering-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Moonis Elahi&#8217;s CNIC, passport to suspend in money laundering case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: A<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore\/lahore-high-court-announces-holiday-next-week\/\"> Special Central Court in Lahore<\/a> has imposed significant restrictions on six accused individuals, including Moonis Elahi, in a high-profile <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/fia-arrests-senior-anchor-person-orya-maqbool-jan\/\">Federal Investigation Agency\u2019s (FIA)<\/a> money laundering case.<\/p>\n<p>The court has also directed to place the passports of the accused on a control list,\u00a0 restricting their ability to travel abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, PTI&#8217;s leader and former member of the National Assembly Moonis Elahi&#8217;s properties and bank accounts are to be sealed on the order of the court to restrict his activities.<\/p>\n<p>The sealed assets include <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nadra-cnic-normal-urgent-executive-latest-fee-update-for-july-2024\/\">Moonis Elahi&#8217;s CNIC<\/a>, passport, 26 kanals of land in Kasur, as well as a plot and a house in Gulberg, Lahore, both registered under Moonis Elahi&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Tanveer Ahmed Shaikh, presiding over the hearing, has sought a report on the implementation of these measures by the next hearing, scheduled for September 19.
