{"id":46678,"date":"2024-08-29T11:03:20","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T06:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=46678"},"modified":"2024-08-29T11:49:53","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T06:49:53","slug":"earthquake-tremors-felt-in-islamabad-peshawar-and-surrounding-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/latest-news\/earthquake-tremors-felt-in-islamabad-peshawar-and-surrounding-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad, Peshawar and surrounding areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD:\u00a0A 5.4 magnitude <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/4-7-magnitude-earthquake-jolts-swat-surroundings\/\">earthquake<\/a> jolted federal capital Islamabad, Peshawar, surrounding areas on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cities rocked by the quake tremors include Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Hangu, Mardan, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Dir, Mansehra, Bitgram, Torghar and Kohistan.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Punjab cities Multan and Sargodha also jolted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe center of earthquake was Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan and depth was 215 kilometers,\u201d according to the National Seismic Monitoring Center in Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p>Following the tremors, people came out of their houses in fear by reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba<\/p>\n<p>However, no loss of life or property was reported in its wake.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 hit Swat district of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/khyber-pakhtunkhwa-to-open-new-govt-schools-in-rented-buildings\/\">Khyber Pakhtunkhwa<\/a> (KP) and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p>According to the seismological centre, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.7 on the Richter scale, the depth of the earthquake was 205 km, while the epicenter was the Hindu Kush Mountain range.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD:\u00a0A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted federal capital Islamabad, Peshawar, surrounding areas on Thursday morning.
