{"id":47187,"date":"2024-09-03T11:59:50","date_gmt":"2024-09-03T06:59:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=47187"},"modified":"2024-09-03T11:59:50","modified_gmt":"2024-09-03T06:59:50","slug":"imran-khan-moves-ihc-against-transfer-to-military-courts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khan-moves-ihc-against-transfer-to-military-courts\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan moves IHC against transfer to military courts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against being handed over to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/supreme-court-annuls-trials-of-civilians-in-military-courts\/\">military custody<\/a> related to May 9 cases on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the details, the former prime minister filed a petition in IHC seeking not to transfer May 9 cases involving him to the military courts.<\/p>\n<p>Imran Khan&#8217;s lawyer Aziz Karamat Bhandari filed a plea on his behalf and made the Secretary of Law, Secretary of Interior, IG Islamabad, IG Punjab, IG Jails, DG FIA, and the federal government respondents in the case.<\/p>\n<p>The petition urged the court to ensure that Imran Khan\u2019s custody was not given to the military.<\/p>\n<p>However, Punjab Law Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmad Barth in a talk with journalists said, \u201cNo summary regarding sending former prime minister Imran Khan\u2019s cases to military courts has come to the provincial cabinet or the law department as yet.
