LAHORE: Following a humiliating 2-0 series defeat from Bangladesh, the Pakistan cricket team fell to their worst Test ranking<\/a> since 1965 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“Pakistan dropped two places — from sixth to eighth — in the Test rankings after suffering a shock series loss<\/a> at home to Bangladesh,” the International Cricket Council (ICC) said.<\/p>\n

Chasing a target of 185, Bangladesh claimed a six-wicket win over the home team Pakistan in the second Test in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, their first series win against Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Green Shirts’ back-to-back losses to Bangladesh at home led to a two-place drop from sixth place, with a total of 76 rating points.<\/p>\n

The ICC said it was “their lowest ranking since 1965” in the 12-team table, which is topped by Australia followed by India and England. Bangladesh is ninth in the latest rankings.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is ninth in the latest rankings just below Pakistan, and gained 13 rating points in the ICC Men\u2019s Test Team Rankings table.<\/p>\n

As team ranking dipped to the lowest, team players also saw a drop with no Pakistan bowlers ranked in the top 10. However,\u00a0 Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan remains the only Pakistani batter to be in the top 10 batting rankings.<\/p>\n

Star batsman and white-ball captain Babar Azam lost the shine following the continuous failure with the bat. As a result, he has slipped out of the top 10 list in the ICC men\u2019s Test batters ranking, for the first time in more than four and a half years.<\/p>\n

Babar Azam managed just 64 runs in the two Tests against Bangladesh. Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi fell to 11th from his ninth place before the Bangladesh series.<\/p>\n
