{"id":47917,"date":"2024-09-09T18:27:33","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T13:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=47917"},"modified":"2024-09-09T18:27:33","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T13:27:33","slug":"nab-withdraws-new-toshakhana-reference-against-imran-khan-bushra-bibi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nab-withdraws-new-toshakhana-reference-against-imran-khan-bushra-bibi\/","title":{"rendered":"NAB withdraws new Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has withdrawn the new <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/kp-govt-launches-inquiry-into-judges-toshakhana-ruling-against-imran-khan\/\">Toshakhana reference<\/a> from the accountability court against the PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes after the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/supreme-court-reinstates-nab-amendments-law\/\">Supreme Court&#8217;s verdict<\/a> last week restoring the NAB amendments laws.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing of Khan\u2019s bail petition, the NAB prosecutor told the <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">accountability court <\/span>that the new Toshakhana case no longer <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">falls <\/span>under its jurisdiction, after <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khan-seeks-acquittal-in-190m-case-after-nab-amendments-case-verdict\/\">restoration of NAB amendments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Former premier&#8217;s counsel Salman Safdar said that after the NAB amendments, this new Toshakhana case should not be created, adding that\u00a0there is no crime under the current law.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Following NAB\u2019s request, Accountability Court judge Muhammad M. Ali Warraich court passed the judgment to transfer the Toshakhana reference to a Special Judge Central<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Islamabad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Accountability Court ordered that bail applications in the new Toshakhana case will be heard by the concerned court.
