{"id":48343,"date":"2024-09-12T16:06:13","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T11:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=48343"},"modified":"2024-09-12T16:06:50","modified_gmt":"2024-09-12T11:06:50","slug":"islamabad-high-court-suspends-physical-remand-of-pti-mnas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad-high-court-suspends-physical-remand-of-pti-mnas\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad High Court suspends physical remand of PTI MNAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/two-month-summer-vacation-at-islamabad-high-court-announced\/\">Islamabad High Court<\/a> (IHC) has suspended the eight-day physical remand of the PTI MNAs arrested in connection with the cases registered against them after the September 8 rally.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, five <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pti-announces-nationwide-protest-against-leadership-arrests-constitutional-attacks\/\">Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf<\/a> (PTI) MNAs, including Amir Dogar, had approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the eight-day physical remand order.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioners took the stand that as members of the National Assembly, they were illegally arrested from the Assembly premises without any reason and taken to an unknown location.<\/p>\n<p>A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the arguments of the petitioners.<\/p>\n<p>Counsel for the petitioners contended that the order of physical remand was illegal, and the trial court had not given any reason for granting the remand.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the prosecution failed to provide any evidence against the accused.<\/p>\n<p>The IHC bench suspended the order of physical remand and directed the prosecution to present its arguments on the matter at the next hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The court also issued a notice to the Advocate General Islamabad and the Prosecutor General and adjourned the hearing of the case till September 14 yesterday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the eight-day physical remand of the PTI MNAs arrested in connection with the cases registered against them after the September 8 rally.
