{"id":48883,"date":"2024-09-17T19:18:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-17T14:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=48883"},"modified":"2024-09-17T19:18:28","modified_gmt":"2024-09-17T14:18:28","slug":"adb-pledges-2-billion-annually-in-loans-to-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/adb-pledges-2-billion-annually-in-loans-to-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"ADB pledges $2 billion annually in loans to Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/adb-approves-320m-loan-to-support-rural-roads-rehabilitation-in-kp\/\">Asian Development Bank<\/a> (ADB) has pledged $2 billion annually in new <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/imf-board-to-discuss-pakistans-7b-loan-programme-on-september-25\/\">loans to Pakistan<\/a> following Islamabad&#8217;s request to get half of the amount on concessional terms.<\/p>\n<p>During the negotiation with Pakistani officials, ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa assured to provide $2 billion per annum.<\/p>\n<p>The Manila-based lender will provide $2 billion every year from 2024 till 2027 which is a total four-year package amounts to $8 billion. Out of the $2 billion, the ADB will give around $1 billion at a fixed 2% rate under its concessional window, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release issued by the economic affairs ministry, the ADB president assured Pakistan of its continued support in the areas of public-private partnership, climate, and disaster resilience enhancement, domestic resource mobilization, promoting women-inclusive finance and energy sector reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the ADB president, during his visit, inaugurated the foundation of the Asian Development Bank&#8217;s new resident mission building in Islamabad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has pledged $2 billion annually in new loans to Pakistan following Islamabad&#8217;s request to get half of the amount on concessional terms.
