{"id":48970,"date":"2024-09-18T15:23:16","date_gmt":"2024-09-18T10:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=48970"},"modified":"2024-09-18T15:24:29","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T10:24:29","slug":"petition-filed-in-lhc-to-stop-ptis-lahore-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/petition-filed-in-lhc-to-stop-ptis-lahore-rally\/","title":{"rendered":"Petition filed in LHC to stop PTI&#8217;s Lahore rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: A citizen has moved to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lhc-restores-lt-gen-munir-afsar-appointment-as-nadra-chairman\/\">Lahore High Court<\/a> (LHC) seeking the court to halt the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pti-rally-in-lahore-will-now-be-held-on-this-date-details-inside\/\">rally<\/a> scheduled in Lahore on September 21.<\/p>\n<p>The petition, filed by citizen Mirza Wahid Rafique through lawyer Nadeem Sarwar, named the Punjab government, Deputy Commissioner Lahore, PTI leadership, and others as respondents.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioner argued that the PTI leaders had consistently approached the court regarding security concerns but were now planning a rally in Lahore that was contrary to their previous stance.<\/p>\n<p>During <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/featured\/islamabad-on-high-alert-pti-jalsa-today-live-updates\/\">PTI&#8217;s Sangjani rally<\/a> on Sept 8, derogatory language was used against the government and judiciary, the petition added.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioner\u00a0further claimed that the Imran Khan-founded party intended to hold the rally without administrative approval.The petition requested the LHC to stop the PTI from holding a rally without administrative consent and making anti-judiciary speeches.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI has requested the district administration for the permission for a rally on September 21.
