{"id":49809,"date":"2024-09-25T16:58:43","date_gmt":"2024-09-25T11:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=49809"},"modified":"2024-09-25T16:58:43","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T11:58:43","slug":"15-new-restrictions-to-be-imposed-on-non-filers-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/15-new-restrictions-to-be-imposed-on-non-filers-in-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"15 new restrictions to be imposed on non-filers in Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to abolish the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-plans-to-end-non-filer-category-to-curb-tax-dodgers\/\">non-filers<\/a> category, imposing restrictions on 15 activities for individuals who fail to file their tax returns.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Board of Revenue (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/fbr-massive-crackdown-to-start-from-non-filers-from-oct-1st\/\">FBR<\/a>) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial stated that non-filing is a fraudulent method and will be eliminated, adding\u00a0that all financial transactions be conducted through banking channels to curb cash flows in the economy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a consultative meeting, FBR Chairman Langrial revealed that criticized the existence of the non-filer category, arguing that such classifications do not exist globally.<\/p>\n<p>According to the FBR chairman, initially, five restrictions will be imposed on non-filers including property purchases, car buying, mutual fund investments, and opening current accounts. International travel, except for religious purposes, will also be subject to this mandate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Furthermore, the non-filers will not be able to open current account in any commercial or private bank and cannot make investments in mutual funds. The government will trace these non-filers with the help of latest technology and algorithms, he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>FBR in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan will enhance monitoring of non-filers&#8217; income, business dealings, and other suspicious transactions.
