LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<\/a> has invited all political parties to sign the ‘Charter of Economy’ for Pakistan’s benefit. During a press conference in London, PM Shehbaz shared that he voiced Pakistan’s stance on key issues, including Palestine and Kashmir, at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).<\/a><\/p>\n

Moreover, he also held productive meetings with world leaders, such as the British Prime Minister, Bangladesh’s Chief Executive, Turkiye’s President, Iraq’s Prime Minister, and Kuwait’s Crown Prince.<\/p>\n

PM Shehbaz passionately advocated for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, condemning Israeli atrocities in Gaza and demanding an immediate end to the bloodshed.<\/p>\n

In addition, he also highlighted the human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as per UN Security Council resolutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the economic front, PM Shehbaz announced that Pakistan is heading towards stability, thanks to the government’s efforts to save the country from default. He highlighted the successful agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)<\/a>, securing a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility program.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and China for their support, as well as to his Finance Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and economic team.<\/p>\n

Notably, PM Shehbaz also acknowledged the role of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir in securing the IMF agreement.<\/p>\n

Pakistan’s economic indicators are improving, with inflation dropping to 9.4% from 32% last year, and the State Bank of Pakistan reducing policy rates to 17%. The Prime Minister urged collective efforts from the nation, particularly the elite class, to drive economic development.<\/p>\n

Additionally, PM Shehbaz thanked his team, including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, for their dedication and hard work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
