NEW YORK: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speech<\/a> at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA<\/a>) has garnered significant attention online. His address has been viewed over 141,000 times, surpassing that of US President Joe Biden’s speech, which drew 103,000 views.<\/p>\n

In his historic address at UNGA, the PM condemned India’s actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir<\/a>, stating that Indian troops have unleashed a reign of terror, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

Moreover, he emphasized that the Kashmir dispute remains a pressing concern on the Security Council’s agenda, with Pakistan advocating for a resolution based on UN resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

PM Shehbaz also highlighted the sufferings of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing the Modi-led Indian government for reneging on commitments to implement UN Security Council resolutions.<\/p>\n

It’s worth noting that PM Shehbaz Sharif’s address also attracted over 1.6 million views on Al Jazeera’s TikTok account, further amplifying his message.<\/p>\n

PM Shehbaz’s speech also touched on other key issues, including climate change, terrorism, and regional stability. He mentioned that Pakistan has suffered greatly from terrorism, with over 80,000 casualties and $150 billion in economic losses.<\/p>\n
