{"id":51283,"date":"2024-10-05T22:48:32","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T17:48:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=51283"},"modified":"2024-10-05T22:48:32","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T17:48:32","slug":"ihc-bans-unauthorized-gatherings-in-islamabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-bans-unauthorized-gatherings-in-islamabad\/","title":{"rendered":"IHC bans unauthorized gatherings in Islamabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/immovable-property-tax-dha-moves-ihc-against-fed-imposition\/\">Islamabad High Court<\/a> (IHC) on Saturday ruled that no unauthorized protests or gatherings will be allowed in the capital during the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/indian-foreign-minister-jaishankar-to-visit-pakistan-for-sco-meet\/\">Shanghai Cooperation Organization<\/a> (SCO) summit.<\/p>\n<p>A bench comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, while issuing a written order on a petition filed by the businessmen, ordered that the lockdown should not be imposed even during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit to be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16.<\/p>\n<p>The IHC directed the Islamabad administration and government to allocate a special place for the protest. &#8220;The protestors must gather in the area designated by the administration to register their protest,&#8221; the IHC ruled.<\/p>\n<p>The IHC, recognizing Articles 16 and 17 of the Constitution, which guarantee the right to assembly and movement, emphasized that these rights are subject to reasonable restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>The court was told that activists of a political party were marching towards the red zone, which would block the movement of other citizens.
