{"id":51505,"date":"2024-10-07T16:48:40","date_gmt":"2024-10-07T11:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=51505"},"modified":"2024-10-07T16:48:40","modified_gmt":"2024-10-07T11:48:40","slug":"fbise-approves-new-grading-system-other-boards-to-follow-suit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/fbise-approves-new-grading-system-other-boards-to-follow-suit\/","title":{"rendered":"FBISE approves new grading system, other boards to follow suit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate &amp; Secondary Education <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/fbise-set-to-announce-hssc-part-i-ii-results-tomorrow\/\">(FBISE)<\/a> in Islamabad has taken a significant step forward by approving a new grading system and pass percentage policy.<\/p>\n<p>Under this system, students will receive grades instead of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/lhc-orders-private-schools-to-provide-pick-and-drop-services\/\">numerical marks<\/a>, and the traditional first, second, and third-position rankings will be abolished.<\/p>\n<p>While FBISE has adopted this new policy, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-to-get-280-new-skill-centers-to-boost-education\/\">education boards<\/a> of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan have yet to follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>However, Sindh Universities &amp; Boards Secretary Abbas Baloch has confirmed that Sindh is in the process of approving the new grading policy, with a formal notification expected to be issued soon.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/salaries-perks-of-grade-22-officers-revealed-in-pakistan\/\">New Grading System Breakdown<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>According to the Inter Boards Committee of Chairmen, the new grading policy will categorize student performance into 10 distinct grades.<\/p>\n<p>The highest achievement, A++ (Exceptional), will be awarded to students scoring 95% or above. The excellent category is further divided into two sub-groups: A+ (Excellent) for scores between 90-94% and A (Excellent) for scores between 85-89%.<\/p>\n<p>Students demonstrating strong performance will receive B++ (Very Good) for scores between 80-84%, B+ (Good) for scores between 75-79%, and B (Fairly Good) for scores between 70-74%.<\/p>\n<p>Average performers will be categorized as C (Above Average) with scores between 60-69%, D (Average) with scores between 50-59%, and E (Below Average) with scores between 40-49%.<\/p>\n<p>Those scoring below 40% will receive an F (Unsatisfactory) grade. This tiered system aims to provide a more nuanced assessment of student achievement.<\/p>\n<p>The new policy will apply to all education boards in Sindh, which will conduct class IX and XI exams according to the new grading system starting in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ziauddin University Examination Board Executive Director Dr. Nasir Ansar has also confirmed that they are fully prepared to implement the new grading policy and conduct exams under it from 2025.<\/p>\n<p>This change aims to standardize and improve the evaluation process across all examination boards in Pakistan, ensuring a more consistent and transparent grading system for students.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum pass percentage has been set at 40%, which will encourage students to focus more on their studies and achieve a better understanding of their subjects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate &amp; Secondary Education (FBISE) in Islamabad has taken a significant step forward by approving a new grading system and pass percentage policy.
