ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered to de-seal the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House (KP House<\/a>), two days after the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed it over building by-laws violations.<\/p>\n

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government filed a plea in IHC <\/span>against the sealing of the KP House in Islamabad through the Secretary Administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The petitioner argued that the sealing of the KP House, which is a provincial government property, is illegal. Additionally, the petitioner has stated that taking official vehicles into custody after\u00a0sealing the KP House is also illegal.<\/p>\n

The court was requested to declare the sealing of the house and the act of taking the KP government\u2019s vehicles into custody \u201cillegal\u201d while seeking to reopen the property.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Justice Farooq told the CDA lawyer that the authority can issue notices to seal the property according to the law. \u201cDon’t make it seem like you are targeting someone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During the hearing, CDA’s lawyer said that illegal construction has taken place on the property and some dues are also still pending with the first notice given to the KP administration in 2014. The lawyer insisted that the lease of the property expired in 2014.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

CDA, in an unprecedented move, on Monday sealed the provincial government\u2019s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House for violating building by-laws.<\/p>\n
