{"id":52052,"date":"2024-10-10T23:30:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-10T18:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=52052"},"modified":"2024-10-10T23:49:41","modified_gmt":"2024-10-10T18:49:41","slug":"pakistan-saudi-arabia-ink-mous-worth-2-2b-in-various-sectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-saudi-arabia-ink-mous-worth-2-2b-in-various-sectors\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan &#038; Saudi Arabia ink MoUs worth $2.2b in various sectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Thursday signed 27 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) valuing US$2.2 billion in various sectors including industry, agriculture, Information Technology (IT), food, education, mine &amp; minerals, health, petroleum, energy and other areas of mutual cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>In a significant development for bilateral relations, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/record-breaking-inning-england-became-first-team-to-score-800-test-runs-against-pakistan\/\">Pakistan<\/a> and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed various agreements amid at enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including construction, textiles, petroleum, energy, transportation and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<p>As per the details, the agreements were formalized during a ceremony held in Islamabad, attended by Pakistan\u2019s Pakistan Prime Minister<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-sharif-orders-closure-of-pakistan-pwd\/\"> Shehbaz Sharif<\/a>, Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Chief of Army Statt General Asim Munir and other high-ranking officials.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister welcomed <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/saudi-arabia-decides-to-invest-in-reko-diq-project-of-balochistan\/\">Saudi Arabia<\/a>\u2019s commitment of $2.2 billion in investments, highlighting the importance of Minister Al-Falih\u2019s visit as a demonstration of Saudi Arabia\u2019s interest in Pakistan\u2019s development. He noted that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has shown a strong commitment to strengthening ties, suggesting that the partnership will continue to grow over time.<\/p>\n<p>During his address, Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabia, China and UAE for their support in successfully completing Pakistan\u2019s Stand-By Arrangement with International Monetary Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/pba-commends-govt-over-negotiating-imf-bailout-package\/\">IMF<\/a>). He reiterated Pakistan\u2019s commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030 and strengthening defence relations, aiming to transform the brotherly relationship into a robust economic partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Al-Falih, during discussions with the Prime Minister, emphasized that the signing of 27 memorandums of understanding is merely the beginning of a fruitful journey between the two nations.
