{"id":52236,"date":"2024-10-12T12:20:58","date_gmt":"2024-10-12T07:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=52236"},"modified":"2024-10-12T12:20:58","modified_gmt":"2024-10-12T07:20:58","slug":"dr-mahrang-baloch-booked-over-terror-incitement-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/dr-mahrang-baloch-booked-over-terror-incitement-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Mahrang Baloch booked over terror, incitement charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"story-detail\">\n<p>KARACHI: Baloch Yakjehti Committee (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/byc-ends-sit-in-in-gwadar-after-successful-negotiations-with-government\/\">BYC<\/a>) leader and human rights activist <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/mahrang-baloch-barred-from-travelling-to-attend-time-magazines-gala\/\">Dr. Mahrang Baloch<\/a>, was booked on several charges including incitement and terrorism-related offenses in Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>A local businessman lodged a complaint with Quaidabad police station on Friday, alleging that Mahrang facilitates the terrorist organisations\u00a0under the guise of processions and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/latest-news\/baloch-protesters-in-islamabad-have-called-off-their-more-than-30-day-sit-in-outside-the-npc\/\">rallies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first information report (FIR) included charges of spreading hatred, inciting Baloch youth against the country, and facilitating terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>The FIR further alleged that Mahrang Baloch and BYC are in full contact with hostile elements from a neighboring country, and with their support and funding, they have started a series of sit-ins in different cities and streets of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The complainant, Asad Ali, a resident of Landhi, said, he found Mahrang along with her associates spreading anarchy by misleading young men and women at the Hospital Chowrangi, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Monday, Dr. Mahrang Baloch was barred from traveling to New York after discovering her name was on the no-fly list.<\/p>\n<p>The activist was invited to attend a\u00a0Time Magazine gala\u00a0as one of the \u201cMost Influential Emerging Leaders of the Year\u201d and was named among Time Magazine\u2019s \u201c100 Most Influential People of 2024\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader and human rights activist Dr. Mahrang Baloch, was booked on several charges including incitement and terrorism-related offenses in Karachi.
