KURRAM: At least 11 people were killed and eight injured, including women and children, in tribal clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Kurram district<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Three people are critically injured in a shooting incident between rival tribes in the Kunj Alizai mountains near the Pak-Afghan border, a local official said.<\/p>\n

Vehicles were targeted in different areas of the district, leading to more casualties, Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Khan told the Associated Press<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A total of nine injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kurram, out of which one succumbed to the injuries while treatment of the rest was underway.<\/p>\n

Pir Haider Ali Shah, a former lawmaker and member of a jirga, said elders had arrived in Kurram to mediate a peace agreement between the tribes. “The incident is unfortunate as jirga members were already present there for a peace agreement,” he said.<\/p>\n

Last month, at least 46 people were killed in days of clashes, which erupted over a land dispute.
