KARACHI: The accused in the rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in the city’s Federal B area pleaded guilty to the crime in the Judicial Magistrate’s Court, here on Monday.<\/p>\n

During the hearing of a case related to the rape and murder of a minor, the police produced the accused before the court where he recorded his statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Code (CrPC).<\/p>\n

After pleading guilty, the court ordered Naseer, a rickshaw driver and a neighbour of the victim, to be jailed.<\/p>\n

The accused had already confessed to the crime on October 10 \u2014 a day after the girl’s body was found near his home on October 9 morning.<\/p>\n

The police said that he put the victim’s body in a sack before dumping it on the road. The locals handed him over to the police.<\/p>\n

The infant’s body was found in a street near his residence in Gulberg. A dupatta was tied around her neck as a noose – suggesting she may have been strangled.<\/p>\n

According to the police, the picture of the accused has been obtained from the CCTV footage<\/a>. In the footage, the accused was seen putting the victim’s body in a sack.<\/p>\n

Police officials also said that the post-mortem report confirmed the rape of the toddler, and the suspect is being questioned as part of the investigation into the case.<\/p>\n

After the body of the victim was found a day ago, she was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal proceedings.<\/p>\n

According to police, the little girl \u2013 identified as Amina \u2013 was the youngest of six siblings and her father is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.<\/p>\n

The girl followed her siblings around 7:15 a.m. as they left for school and was found dead a short distance from her home at 7:30 a.m., police said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
