{"id":52900,"date":"2024-10-16T14:54:27","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T09:54:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=52900"},"modified":"2024-10-16T14:54:27","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T09:54:27","slug":"in-a-first-sindh-announces-gpa-system-for-matric-intermediate-exams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/in-a-first-sindh-announces-gpa-system-for-matric-intermediate-exams\/","title":{"rendered":"In a first, Sindh announces &#8216;GPA system&#8217; for matric, intermediate exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>KARACHI: The Sindh government has unveiled a new <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/fbise-approves-new-grading-system-other-boards-to-follow-suit\/\">grading policy<\/a>\u00a0for matriculation (Grade 9 and 10) and intermediate-level (Grade 11 and 12) exams across the province, effective from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Students of the province from Grades 9 to 12 will not get traditional marks and positions, but grades, GPA, and CGPA, the notification issued by Sindh Universities &amp; Boards Department stated, making Sindh the first province in the country to implement such a system.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new system, the first, second, and third positions will also be abolished. The move aims to modernize the education system and encourage a more balanced approach to academic performance.<\/p>\n<p>The notification further\u00a0stated that the pass percentage has been increased from 33% to 40% at the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) level for all subjects, effective from the annual examinations 2025.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-52904 \" src=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"731\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22.webp 700w, https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22-184x300.webp 184w, https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22-628x1024.webp 628w, https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22.webp 700w, https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22-184x300.webp 184w, https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/22-628x1024.webp 628w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>New grading system in Sindh<\/h2>\n<p>As per the new policy, students scoring 95% or above will be awarded an A++ grade (5.0 GPA), while those scoring between 90% and 94% will receive an A+ grade (4.7 GPA). A grade (4.3 GPA) will be awarded to the percentage between 85% to 89%<\/p>\n<p>If a student gets 80-84%, he\/she will be awarded B++ grade (4.0 GPA), 75-79% will receive B+ (3.7 GPA), 70-74% will get B (3.3 GPA), and 60-69% will get C (3.0 GPA).<\/p>\n<p>The student getting a percentage below 40% will be considered failed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"medium-insert-images ui-sortable medium-insert-active medium-insert-images-right50\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Sindh government has unveiled a new grading policy\u00a0for matriculation (Grade 9 and 10) and intermediate-level (Grade 11 and 12) exams across the province, effective from 2024.
