{"id":53967,"date":"2024-10-26T20:31:48","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T15:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=53967"},"modified":"2024-10-26T20:31:48","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T15:31:48","slug":"zain-qureshi-resigns-as-ptis-deputy-parliamentary-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/zain-qureshi-resigns-as-ptis-deputy-parliamentary-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Zain Qureshi &#8216;resigns&#8217; as PTI&#8217;s deputy parliamentary leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD:\u00a0Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/opinion\/inside-story-of-zain-qureshis-betrayal-over-constitutional-amendments\/\">Zain Qureshi<\/a> stepped down on Saturday as the party\u2019s deputy parliamentary leader following the allegations about supporting the 26th Constitutional Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi&#8217;s son including many others were issued <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/uncategorized\/pti-takes-disciplinary-actions-issues-show-cause-notices-to-lawmakers\/\">show-cause notices<\/a> by the party over their support during the passage of the 26th constitutional amendment, which violates the party policy, the party spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Taking on X, he announced his decision, saying that &#8220;he has resigned for a free and transparent inquiry and in recognition of the sentiment of our party supporters.&#8221; PTI leader confirmed that he has officially responded to the show-cause notice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI disappeared on the orders of my father Shah Mehmood Qureshi, senior party leader, and I could never think of voting for this constitutional amendment,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Based on my belief for a free and transparent inquiry and in recognition of the sentiment of our party supporters, i am resigning from my role as Deputy Parliamentary Leader.
