{"id":55952,"date":"2024-11-13T10:20:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T05:20:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=55952"},"modified":"2024-11-13T11:09:16","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T06:09:16","slug":"earthquake-jolts-islamabad-rawalpindi-kp-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/earthquake-jolts-islamabad-rawalpindi-kp-cities\/","title":{"rendered":"5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Islamabad, various parts of KP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: A 5.3 magnitude <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/national-resilience-day-being-observed-today-to-pay-tribute-to-2005-earthquake-victims\/\">earthquake<\/a> jolted the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi along with various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\">According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/earthquake-jolts-kp-khyber-district-residents-rush-outdoors-in-panic\/\">Hindukush mountain range<\/a> in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, with a depth of 220 kilometers.<\/div>\n<p class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\">The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Mohmand, Swat, Attock, Malakand, Mardan, Shangla, Chitral, Upper Dir, Buner, Abbottabad and\u00a0other KP cities.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"ads_between_content\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1523347432315-11\" class=\"story_ads\">Earlier on September 11, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hits parts of Pakistan, mostly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row_inner tdi_75  vc_row vc_inner wpb_row td-pb-row\">\n<div class=\"vc_column_inner tdi_82  wpb_column vc_column_container tdc-inner-column td-pb-span8\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_85 td-pb-border-top single-content td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_85\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The Met Department&#8217;s National Seismic Monitoring Centre confirmed that the epicenter of the earthquake was near Dera Ghazi Khan with a depth of 10km.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The quake in September was preceded by another one of 5.4 magnitude which jolted parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and KP in June.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the country has witnessed at least six earthquakes this year, of which three were in the port city of Karachi, PMD said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: A 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi along with various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday morning.
