This prestigious award marks a historic milestone, as Dr. Fatima is the first Pakistani to receive this recognition.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Fatima, serving as the chief researcher and National Coordinator of Pakistan&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/whatsapp-introduces-new-privacy-feature-for-contact-management\/\">Common Management Unit<\/a> (CMU) for TB, accepted the award.<\/p>\n<p>Her groundbreaking work has not only garnered international acclaim but also led to her appointment as chair of the TB section of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/pakistan-listed-as-one-of-5-high-burden-tb-countries-who\/\">Lung Disease<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement has sparked celebration within the scientific community and among Pakistani nationals in Indonesia, who praise Dr. Fatima&#8217;s accomplishments and Pakistan&#8217;s vital role in addressing global health challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan&#8217;s efforts to combat TB are noteworthy, considering the country&#8217;s high burden of the disease. With approximately 1.5 million TB cases and ranking sixth globally in TB cases, Pakistan&#8217;s progress in controlling the disease is significant.<\/p>\n<p>The National TB Program (NTP) has implemented strategies like the Programmatic Management of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT) and Directly Observed Treatment, Short course (DOTS) to tackle the challenge.
