KARACHI: In line with directives from the Government of Sindh<\/a> and the Election Commission of Pakistan, the Deputy Commissioner of South Karachi Captain (R) Altaf Hussain Sario has announced a holiday<\/a> on November 14, here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As per the issued notification, this holiday has been declared for the Local Government by-election in Union Council 13, Kehkashan Clifton, under TMC Saddar in District South Karachi.<\/p>\n

The holiday is intended to allow voters in the constituency to participate in the by-election at their designated polling stations.<\/p>\n

Government officials, educational institutions, law enforcement and other relevant departments have been informed to ensure smoot and orderly voting in the area.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the district administration of Korangi had also declared a public holiday on November 14 for the local body by-elections to facilitate the elections on three seats in the district.<\/p>\n

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed preparations for the local body (LG) by-elections in Sindh. 175 candidates are in the fray for 33 seats in different categories of the by-elections in the elections to be held on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The by-elections in Karachi will be held on 10 seats and it is noteworthy that 4 seats remain uncontested due to no candidate filing nomination papers.<\/p>\n
