Therefore, I am submitting my resignation from the party post as an office bearer,&#8221; the letter read.<\/p>\n<p>Awan, however, reaffirmed her support for the party as a member. &#8220;However, I will continue my support for the party as a member in the best of public and national interest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Firdous Ashiq Awan, hailing from Sialkot, joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party before the February 8 general elections after parting ways with the former ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).<\/p>\n<p>During the Imran Khan regime, she served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting from 2019 to 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Awan also served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Information and Culture from November 2020 to August 2021, during the PTI government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIALKOT: Senior politician and Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Firdous Ashiq Awan has tendered her resignation as the Central Information Secretary of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
