{"id":57385,"date":"2024-11-26T22:28:50","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=57385"},"modified":"2024-11-26T22:28:50","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:28:50","slug":"ghee-cooking-oil-prices-increase-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/ghee-cooking-oil-prices-increase-in-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghee, cooking oil prices increase in Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The hike in edible <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/oil-and-ghee-prices-increase-massively-in-pakistan-complete-rates-inside\/\">oil and ghee prices<\/a> here on Tuesday has hit consumers as well as small traders badly.<\/p>\n<p>Small businesses, especially food businesses, are feeling the heat amid the rising prices of essential commodities.<\/p>\n<p>In November, the price of cooking oil increased from Rs 530 to Rs 560, recording an increase of Rs 30, while the price of ghee reached Rs 550.<\/p>\n<p>The rising inflation is worrying hotel, restaurant and food truck owners as they say the increase in ghee and cooking oil prices is making it impossible to run their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The inflation has dealt a severe blow to their sales as the rise in food prices has hit consumers\u2019 pockets hard and people are forced to cut their expenses.<\/p>\n<p>Small traders said their costs have doubled while profit margins have shrunk.<\/p>\n<p>The continuous rise in the prices of basic commodities is also putting financial pressure on households.<\/p>\n<p>Already troubled by rising inflation, the increase in the prices of ghee and cooking oil is further increasing the prices of basic necessities, including food.<\/p>\n<p>The distressed consumers said that the government has failed to provide any relief to the people.<\/p>\n<p>On October 18, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistans-population-hits-241-49-million-likely-to-double-by-2050-pbs-report\/\">PBS<\/a>) reported that weekly inflation, as measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), increased by 0.28 percent for common consumption groups during the week ending October 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The hike in edible oil and ghee prices here on Tuesday has hit consumers as well as small traders badly.
