KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet<\/a> has approved the abolition of the \u201cdead quota\u201d in light of the Supreme Court\u2019s orders, here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

According to reports, this decision was taken in a Sindh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah<\/a>. The PPP-led Sindh government announced that no more recruitments will be made under the deceased quota in the province.<\/p>\n

Earlier, employees who died while serving were replaced under this quota. The cabinet also approved the establishment of a company to provide clean water and sanitation facilities to rural populations.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Sindh cabinet approved the establishment of the Sindh People\u2019s Rural Civic Services and also approved changes in the procedure for the appointment of vice chancellors.<\/p>\n

The cabinet approved changes in the criteria for the appointment of vice chancellors in universities, as well as the installation of automatic electronic vending machines.<\/p>\n

A committee was formed to address problems and shortcomings in education boards. The cabinet also approved amendments in the rules for the establishment of the Sindh IT Company.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for conducting General Screening Test with Sukkur IBA was extended, ensuring transparency and merit-based appointments.<\/p>\n
