MURREE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has directed the Murree administration to remain alert in rain and snowfall, here on Sunday.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA<\/a>) said that rain and snowfall are continuing in Murree. While there are chances of more rain and snowfall for the next 24 hours. Due to rain and snowfall, traffic flow on the roads may be affected.<\/p>\n

He said that the administration is sprinkling salt on the roads.<\/p>\n

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia, while instructing the Murree administration to remain alert, said that the administration should be alert. And no negligence should be shown.<\/p>\n

He directed that snow should be removed simultaneously using heavy machinery. And traffic flow on the highways should be ensured. It is the responsibility of the administration to provide facilities to tourists according to the weather.<\/p>\n

Irfan Ali Kathia said that 13 rehabilitation canters have been established in Murree to guide tourists. And tourists are requested to review the weather conditions before setting off on their journey.<\/p>\n

He said that Murree is the queen of mountains and efforts are being made to ensure that there is no untoward incident. All institutions are busy serving the public. Meanwhile, citizens should be careful and avoid unnecessary travel.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that rain and snowfall have started in Murree<\/a>. And more rain and snowfall are likely to continue for the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Murree has said that the personnel of Rescue 1122 Murree are following the emergency plan made for the winter season.
