{"id":58721,"date":"2024-12-10T15:46:07","date_gmt":"2024-12-10T10:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=58721"},"modified":"2024-12-10T16:07:05","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T11:07:05","slug":"lt-gen-r-faiz-hameed-formally-charged-in-court-martial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lt-gen-r-faiz-hameed-formally-charged-in-court-martial\/","title":{"rendered":"Lt Gen (r) Faiz Hameed formally charged in court martial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed has been formally charged with multiple offenses including the &#8220;violations of the Official Secret Act&#8221;, the military&#8217;s media wing said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the process of field general court-martial (FGCM) was initiated against the former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Faiz Hamid under provisions of the Pakistan Army Act on August 12, 2024, and he has been &#8220;formally charged in the first place&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The charges include &#8220;arraigned on charges of engaging in political activities&#8221;, violations of the Official Secret Act detrimental to the safety and interest of the state, &#8220;misuse of authority &amp; government resources&#8221;, and causing wrongful loss to a person(s).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to that, Faiz Hamid has been probed regarding his alleged involvement in &#8220;events related to creating agitation and unrest, leading up to multiple incidents including but not limited to the 9th May 2023 incident for fomenting instability; at the behest of and in collusion with vested political interests&#8221;.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Lt Gen Faiz Hamid (Retd) is being afforded all legal rights as per the law, the statement read.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed has been formally charged with multiple offenses including the &#8220;violations of the Official Secret Act&#8221;, the military&#8217;s media wing said in a statement.
