However, this option comes with a proportional reduction in pay.<\/p>\n<p>Japan recorded just 727,277 births last year, a clear indication of its declining birth rate, as reported by official government statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Experts attribute the low birth rate to Japan&#8217;s work culture, where women are often forced to choose between advancing their careers and becoming mothers.
