ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP), under the chairmanship of Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, approved 15 development projects<\/a> worth Rs 422.704 billion.<\/p>\n

According to the press release issued on Sunday,\u00a0six projects worth Rs 17.95 billion have been approved by the CDWP forum, while it recommended nine projects worth Rs 404.754 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC<\/a>) for its consideration.<\/p>\n

CDWP approved the revised PC-1 of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project worth Rs 32.9 billion which\u00a0will be considered in the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting.<\/p>\n

The revised project includes constructing a 38.3 km main carriageway from Banth (N-5) to Thalian (M-2), with interchanges, bridges, flyovers, subways, fencing, toll plazas, and weigh stations. The design adheres to AASHTO highway standards and is financed through the provincial ADP.<\/p>\n

The working party also approved a project titled “Economic Transformation Initiative, Gilgit-Baltistan Planning, and Development Department, GoGB (Revised)” worth Rs 26,763.880 million, to ECNEC for further consideration.<\/p>\n

The forum recommended another project “Sindh Coastal Resilience Project (SCRP)”, worth Rs 45.7 billion, to ECNEC aimed at building climate resilience, improving livelihoods, and reducing poverty in Sindh\u2019s coastal districts: Badin, Sujawal, and Thatta.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the press release stated that the CDWP forum approved a project namely “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Mobilization and Public Resource Management Program (Technical Assistance) (Revised)\u201d worth Rs 4713.6 million.<\/p>\n

The meeting also okayed the “Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center (PCU part)” project, worth Rs 3110.4 million, under the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations & Coordination.<\/p>\n

The forum approved the “Social Sector Accelerator (SSA) for Health, Nutrition, Education, Youth & Gender (HNEYG) \u2013 Prime Minister\u2019s Youth Internship Programme (Revised)” worth Rs 7499.804 million after detailed discussion.<\/p>\n

The working party referred a project “Procurement\/Manufacture of 820 High-Capacity Bogie Wagons and 230 Passenger Coaches (Revised),” worth Rs 70.9 billion, to ECNEC for further consideration.<\/p>\n

The meeting also sent projects titled “Construction of Mangi Dam and Water Conveyance System (Revised)” worth Rs 18.9 billion and “Sindh Early Learning Enhancement through Classroom Transformation (Revised)” worth Rs 46570.5 million to ECNEC for further consideration.<\/p>\n
