ISLAMABAD: Richard Grenell, picked as US President-elect Donald Trump’s aide for special missions<\/a> called for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan<\/a> in a post on social media.<\/p>\n

Taking on X,\u00a0Grenell tagged the Geo News story<\/em> regarding his appointment and wrote, “I\u2019ll say it again. Free Imran Khan.”<\/p>\n

Following his tweet, several US politicians including former congressman and Trump’s aide Matt Gaetz also reiterated the demand to release former prime minister Imran Khan.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump on Saturday announced picking Richard Grenell, his former intelligence chief, as presidential envoy for special missions, a post where he will likely drive policies toward some US adversaries.<\/p>\n

“Ric will work in some of the hottest spots around the World, including Venezuela and North Korea,” Trump said on his Truth Social media platform without further describing the duties.<\/p>\n
