{"id":59656,"date":"2024-12-19T14:18:28","date_gmt":"2024-12-19T09:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=59656"},"modified":"2024-12-19T14:18:28","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T09:18:28","slug":"ihc-suspends-pemras-notification-regarding-participation-of-defense-analysts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-suspends-pemras-notification-regarding-participation-of-defense-analysts\/","title":{"rendered":"IHC suspends PEMRA&#8217;s notification regarding defense analysts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended PEMRA&#8217;s notification regarding the participation of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lhc-suspends-pemra-order-banning-imran-khans-speeches\/\">defence analysts<\/a> in TV programs on several conditions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"QpPSMb\">\n<p class=\"DoxwDb\">Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) notified that only retired military officers can appear on TV channels for defence analysis with the permission of ISPR, the military media wing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DoxwDb\">IHC Justice Babar Sattar presided over the hearing and issued a written order in the case against PEMRA\u2019s 2019 notification.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DoxwDb\">As per the order, the legal counsel for PEMRA failed to appear in the hearing and the assistant counsel requested adjournment due to senior counsel\u2019s unwellness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DoxwDb\">IHC ordered the suspension of the regulatory authority&#8217;s notification after completing the arguments on both sides.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DoxwDb\">The court ordered suspending the notification until the verdict was delivered and adjourned the hearing till February 11, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended PEMRA&#8217;s notification regarding the participation of defence analysts in TV programs on several conditions.
