{"id":59898,"date":"2024-12-21T17:41:18","date_gmt":"2024-12-21T12:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=59898"},"modified":"2024-12-21T17:41:18","modified_gmt":"2024-12-21T12:41:18","slug":"weather-update-ndma-predicts-light-rainfall-in-islamabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/weather-update-ndma-predicts-light-rainfall-in-islamabad\/","title":{"rendered":"Weather update: NDMA predicts light rainfall in Islamabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has predicted <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/karachi-weather-forecast-cold-dry-weather-to-persist-in-port-city\/\">light rainfall<\/a> in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/islamabad-weather-forecast-haze-to-embrace-federal-capital\/\">adjacent districts<\/a> on December 23-24.<\/p>\n<p>The authority forecasted cloudy weather with chances of light rain in Attock, and northeastern parts of Punjab from Monday to Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to NDMA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/winter-vacation-announced-in-islamabad-for-educational-institutions\/\">weather projection<\/a> for December 21-26, cold and dry conditions are expected across most parts of Punjab.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Smog and fog will likely persist in the plains of Punjab through December 26, 2024, potentially reducing visibility and impacting travel,&#8221; the disaster management authority said. &#8220;Cold and dry weather is predicted throughout the forecast period in Balochistan and Sindh.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_18 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_18\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>&#8220;While Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to experience cold conditions with isolated rainfall in various areas. Snowfall is likely over the province\u2019s hilly regions,&#8221; as per the forecast.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, NDMA predicted mainly cold weather, with isolated rain and snowfall over the hills in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>NDMA\u2019s National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), in a statement, has advised local authorities, emergency responders, and the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the authority urged the residents of northern and hilly areas to &#8220;exercise caution while traveling&#8221; due to the risk of slippery roads and reduced visibility.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People in smog-affected regions should limit outdoor exposure and adopt protective measures in low-visibility conditions,&#8221; the authority said in an advisory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has predicted light rainfall in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and adjacent districts on December 23-24.
