ISLAMABAD: In an effort to enhance traffic control and road safety<\/a>, authorities in the nation’s capital set updated speed restrictions for a number of routes and highways.<\/p>\n

The new restrictions, which will apply to both heavy transport\/public service vehicles (HTV\/PSV) and light transport vehicles<\/a> (LTV), are intended to improve traffic flow while preserving safety along the city’s busiest thoroughfares.<\/p>\n

There are presently speed limits of 80 km\/h for light transport vehicles (LTV) and 65 km\/h for heavy transport\/public service vehicles (HTV\/PSV) on major routes like as the Kashmir Highway, Islamabad Highway, and Murree Road.<\/p>\n

Constitution Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, and Faisal Avenue are other important thoroughfares with speed limits of 70 km\/h for LTVs and 65 km\/h for HTVs\/PSVs. The lower limits on Lehtrar Road and Kahuta Road are between 40 and 60 km\/h.<\/p>\n

Local streets, particularly those close to hospitals and schools, have speed limits of 25 km\/h for HTVs\/PSVs and 30 km\/h for LTVs. Service roads are also affected, with dualized roads moving at 60 km\/h and single-lane roads moving at 40 km\/h. The goal of these changes is to strike a balance between safety and traffic efficiency.<\/p>\n

It is anticipated that this action will lower accident rates and enhance the capital’s transport system overall.<\/p>\n
