{"id":60841,"date":"2024-12-30T21:25:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T16:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=60841"},"modified":"2024-12-30T21:59:06","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T16:59:06","slug":"karachi-police-unveil-traffic-plan-ahead-of-new-years-eve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/karachi\/karachi-police-unveil-traffic-plan-ahead-of-new-years-eve\/","title":{"rendered":"Karachi police unveil traffic plan ahead of New Year&#8217;s Eve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/eid-milad-un-nabi-processions-karachi-traffic-police-announces-diversion-plan\/\">Karachi Traffic Police<\/a> on Monday announced a plan to facilitate citizens ahead of New Year\u2019s Eve as several roads leading to Sea View will be closed on the intervening night of December 31 to January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Security will be on high alert across the city on New Year\u2019s Eve, with Section 144 imposed for two days, with a complete ban on the use of weapons, aerial firing and firecrackers.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, every year on New Year\u2019s Eve, hundreds of people are injured or killed in celebratory firing despite various measures taken by the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic police asked residents of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to choose alternative routes to reach their destinations as people will head to entertainment venues including Clifton, Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim and Sea View for New Year\u2019s celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the areas with alternative routes will then be able to show their original identity cards to avoid any inconvenience while travelling to their destinations.<\/p>\n<h2>Closed roads<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>PIDC Chowk (Ziauddin Road) to Ziauddin Bridge towards Lucky Signal<\/li>\n<li>PIDC Chowk to Club Road<\/li>\n<li>Bilawal Chowrangi to Bahria Underpass<\/li>\n<li>Do Talwar to Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine<\/li>\n<li>Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine to 26th Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Alternative Routes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Korangi Road, Sunset Boulevard Road, Gizri Bridge, Saudi Signal towards Khayaban-e-Shamshir, McDonalds towards McDonalds Sea View road will be opened for traffic from Expressway and Korangi.<\/li>\n<li>M A Jinnah Road, Garden Road, Zaibun Nisa Street, Awari Light Signal, Sindh Club Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar towards Zam Zam Boulevard Road, Khayaban-e-Shamshir and McDonalds Sea View would be opened for those travelling to DHA from North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and New Karachi.<\/li>\n<li>Sharea Faisal, Sindh Club Chowk, Teen Talwar, Race Course Signal, Chaudhry Khalid-uz-Zaman Road, Gizri Bridge, Saudi Signal towards Khayaban-e-Shamshir, McDonald Sea View road would be opened for traffic from Gadap, Bin Qasim, Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Jamshed Road and Saddar.<\/li>\n<li>Jinnah Bridge en route Mai Kolachi to Boat Basin, Bilawal House Chowrangi, Marine Road (Hyperstar) towards McDonalds Sea View will be opened for traffic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police on Monday announced a plan to facilitate citizens ahead of New Year\u2019s Eve as several roads leading to Sea View will be closed on the intervening night of December 31 to January 1, 2025.
