ISLAMABAD: Pakistani citizens, upon turning 18 years of age, are required to get a Computerized National Identity Card<\/a> (CNIC). The process to get a new CNIC involves visiting any nearby Nadra Registration Centre with a bunch of documents, namely, a birth certificate or a matric result card, plus a CNIC copy of a family member.<\/p>\n

One’s ID card is important for a driving license, NTN, bank account<\/a>, passport, or even a mobile connection. It also connects with healthcare and education, which makes it a very important document in daily life.<\/p>\n

Be sure you have your documents when you go to apply for your CNIC. These include a birth certificate or a matric card, as well as a CNIC copy of any family member.<\/p>\n

You need to ensure that your details are correct and true while applying for your ID card, since if any of your documents have been forged or information is incorrect, that may create problems.<\/p>\n

Nadra CNIC Fee Update for January 2025<\/a><\/h2>\n

The fees for getting a CNIC are fairly nominal as well. As of January 2025, the normal fee for a New Smart National Identity Card is Rs750. If you want it processed on an urgent basis, you will have to pay Rs1,500.<\/p>\n

In the executive scheme, the fee will be Rs2,500. Since Nadra has not changed its fee regime when the new year started, you may plan likewise. Of course, one may register for a CNIC online through the PAK ID website.<\/p>\n

However, one will still be required to visit the Nadra Registration Centre to furnish documents and obtain a card.<\/p>\n

Luckily, every citizen of Pakistan who is over the age of 18 can apply for a CNIC, so acquiring it will not be an issue. It is worthy noting that the CNIC is closely linked to the health and education systems.<\/p>\n

This means that your medical records would be linked, and your identification would be verified for school admissions, enabling you to get the services you need. And, of course, a CNIC is essential in procuring SIM cards, which is something of urgent concern in today’s digital world.<\/p>\n
